Do you have any Mill worker jobs?

Yes! Typically, the Roseburg office services and maintains hundreds of active job listings for the Douglas County area. The wood products industry is well represented, but the number of available job openings varies with seasonal swings and market demand.

Can you help me with my résumé?

Yes! Our Career Resource Library provides a variety of relevant publications and videos which are available for use in the lobby. Additionally, customers may use one of our 'Résumé Computers' to create, modify, and update their résumés. Personal, individualized assistance is also available from one of our Business Employment Specialists. Reservations are recommended.

Is there a veteran's representative available?

Yes! We have both a local veteran's representative and a disabled veteran's representative on staff in the Roseburg office. Drop-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended.

How do I register to get a job?

You may register with the iMatchSkills program on-line using one of the 'Job Seeker Computer' stations in our office lobby or any internet capable computer at home, etc. The registration process is self-guided with screen prompts and takes about 25-45 minutes. Our staff is available to answer any questions and provide assistance as needed.

State job announcements are accessible on-line using one of the 'Job Seeker Computer' stations in our office lobby or any internet capable computer at home, etc. Form PD100 is the application required for State of Oregon employment. We can provide the PD100 and other supplemental forms (if required) or they may be down-loaded and saved to a disk for customer convenience.

Is there any part-time work available?

Yes! Many of the jobs listed with the WorkSource Oregon Employment Department are for part-time positions. Customers may browse only part-time positions by performing an advanced search using the parameter which specifies jobs that are for 1-29 hours/wk.

How do I get a work permit?

Minors over 14 years old are no longer required to obtain work permits.
Employers of youth 14 to 18 need to contact the Bureau of Labor and
Industries, for more information regarding their responsibilites.

Yes! Some of the jobs listed with the WorkSource Oregon Employment Department are suitable for minors, but there are certain laws and regulations which apply to young people, ages 14-17, and the kinds of jobs and working hours that are allowed. Our staff can help you determine if a particular job listing would be appropriate.

If I am not eligible, what other options are available?

Umpqua Training & Employment Inc. offers basic skills remediation for a fee through The Warner School. Classes are offered both on-site and via the Internet. Youth and adults may improve their basic skills through computerized tutorials and individual instruction with an instructor.

Other on-line training programs for specific hard skills i.e. 10 key, WORD, Excel, typing, etc., are also available for afee.

I am an employer looking for training for my existing employees, is this something you offer?
Umpqua Training & Employment Inc. can provide remedial education for your employees through The Warner School. These fee based training programs can be accessed via the internet to allow your employees to complete courses right at their work station. An instructor will monitor your employee's progress on line and will assist them with any questions they may have.

Other on-line training programs for specific hard skills i.e. 10 key, WORD, Excel, typing, Power Point, Access, etc., are also available for a fee.
